3ROC Citizen Science Walks

  • 12/11/2021
  • 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM
  • 3ROC 1130 SOuth Braddock Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15218

Ever wanted to know more about citizen science? Join local librarian Tess Wilson for weekly walks in Frick Park! We'll explore digital resources like iNaturalist, Seek, and Merlin Bird ID with the help of Foldscopes and other field tools. Local experts from UpstreamPGH, GASP, and other organizations will tag along to chat about the ways they engage with citizen science and why it's a great way to support your local ecosystem!

What is citizen science? It's when regular people help scientists with their research. We might do this by watching birds, collecting samples, or recording things we see in the natural world. There are tons of ways to get involved, and your participation can have a huge impact!
