Wilderness Lodge Description & New Informaion:

The Lodge is no longer booked the way it had been in the past. I must rent the whole lodge…upstairs, downstairs and kitchen. There will be no food serviceWe will do our own food, using the kitchen, or you can go out to a diner like the one in Wattsburg. You will need to bring what you want for meals or to prepare your own meals. However, I have a few ideas: Potluck Saturday evening. Or I can have it catered in and we will split the cost. Or 2 or 3 people have volunteered to prepare a meal for that evening and we split the cost. I could have cereal, oatmeal, muffins, donuts, fruit, milk, hot chocolate, coffee, tea, etc. available for breakfast and we split the cost. Any food that needs to be stored in refrigerator or freezer, we will use the kitchen. There is enough refrigerator and freezer space for our food. Anything you want to prepare for breakfast, lunch or potluck, there is enough range and oven space. We have use of pans, dishes and silverware, but if you want to bring a crockpot for something you are doing, that would be OK.  We can discuss these details later among those who sign up and how we want to set this up. . (If need be and if you want, there is a store couple miles away and there is a diner restaurant in Wattsburg.).

Wilderness Lodge is in Wattsburg, Pa., near Peak n Peak Ski Resort. It is in a snow belt also near Erie and always a Winter Wonderland. Very unique rustic place in the woods, in the middle of nowhere. Owned and operated by Janes family for many years. Downstairs: Tables and chairs for socializing and playing card or board games, couches and fireplace, books, TV, and bar. (But no one will be selling liquor at the bar, so bring your own.) Upstairs: Bedrooms, bathrooms and showers, sitting room to read. Trail passes are purchased at the Nordic Center building next to the Lodge.
